"Off the grid" - Artist residence in Arizona. The house was set on a wooded 30 acre sloping site, oriented along the east/west axis to take advantage of passive solar heating (largest glass facade is facing south) and increased the efficiency of solar systems generating electricity and heating water. To maintain livable temperatures in all seasons, we designed an air circulation system to draw the steady temperatures of our basement + water storage tanks to the upper floor during winter and summer seasons.  The overall goal was to only use passive and solar energy through all seasons.
